Executive Sous Chef, Emily Towell
Nothing says more about the role in our society of eating together then Emily’s family traditions of cooking and eating with one another- as a family, group of friends, for special occasions, holidays and special events. Emily’s Italian ancestry and upbringing instilled a love of cooking deep into her soul and what started as a hobby cooking with the women in her family, at the age of 3 (the men did NOT cook!), became her career.
Emily graduated from the Culinary Institute o f America in Hyde Park, New York and studied a broad program while she was there. Emily went on to cook at several well-known restaurants, including Domaine Chandon in Napa, California. She has done some traveling in Europe that was partly a quest for great food and wine. Needing nothing more to fuel the passion for her trade, she enthusiastically took a job at Grouse Mountain Grill where she brings inspiration and excitement to the menu every day (and yes, men do cook in her kitchen!).
Besides eating, “pirate-loving” Emily Towell enjoys her cat, named after her favorite bacon “Neuske”, reading (cookbooks!) and many outdoor activities including skiing, snow shoeing, camping, mountain biking and rock climbing. Those activities will burn the calories! |
