Pastry Chef, Rebecca DeAngelo
Prior to turning her focus on all things culinary, Rebecca’s original plan for her education included Marine Biology at Indiana's Purdue University.  This former "Boilermaker" happily found that she could pursue cooking as a career following a job assisting cooking demonstrations at the Culinary Shop Boutique.  She, also, credits her Italian Grandmother as her inspiration with whom Rebecca spent summers gardening, cooking, canning and happily eating the resulting delicious foods.

Rebecca pursued her culinary education at some of the finest schools in the United States; Le Cordon Bleu (Minneapolis) and the New England Culinary Institute.  Rebecca is also a Certified Italian Pastry Chef.

A bona fide Ice Cream Fanatic, you will find ice cream and gelato complementing many of her desserts.  Having a special affinity for all things Italian, she names Tiramisu her absolute favorite.  Despite the fact that Grouse Mountain Grill does not have an Italian menu, we are trying to talk her in to putting her Tiramisu on our menu- anything goes when it comes to desserts, as long as they are delicious!

Before moving to Colorado, Rebecca spent many years in Montana where she helped open three restaurants, worked at Triple Creek Ranch and was the Pastry and Breakfast Chef for Five Rivers Lodge.  Not only did she have a great time cooking for this intimate upscale fishing lodge, she learned how to fly fish from the "best instructor" in the country.  She also enjoys camping, hiking, mountain biking and horseback riding. Four years after opening her own Rocky Mountain Café in Indiana, Rebecca moved on to Chicago's Bonefish Grill.

Determining that her heart really belongs in the mountains, after tasting Rebecca's desserts we found her desserts belong on our plates and served to the customers of Grouse Mountain Grill.  Her heart is definitely in everything she does and the results show in her extraordinary desserts.

Rebecca is a "major Red Sox fan" mostly to get on her three brother's nerves (the brothers are Cubs fans!).  In her free time, Rebecca plans to enjoy some time skiing this winter as well as spending time with her Golden Retriever, aptly named "Montana".
